Who Are You? - How your mindset effects you.

I recently listened to a live from Lauren Golden where she talked about identity shifts, not just relating to business, but even in our personal lives. Everything she said and the way that her thoughts were explained were so good. Here is one of my key takeaways...

Realizing that things that we say about ourselves or things that we classify ourselves as being, we will truly become because we are training ourselves that that’s what we are. For example, if someone tells you repeatedly that you’re not creative, then intern you begin to tell yourself that you are not creative. In time you will not even try to be creative because you are telling yourself already that you are not.

She was encouraging to tell yourself “I am” statements, that are positive. Rather than saying “I am rude”, say “I am kind”, in an effort to become kind. So basically if we know we want to gain a quality or become something in particular, whether it’s a quality of our personality or take on a new job role, we need to say that we are that thing, immediately! The key is to follow through with the ACTION.

There are many coaches that say believe it until it happens, or it will just be, when in reality how can anything BE if we don’t work at it becoming what we wish it would be. This live coaching session was actually my first introduction to Lauren Golden as a coach and it was truly impressive.

I had to share these small but powerful gems with you and encourage you to head on over to see her page on Instagram (@LaurenGolden) to listen to the live yourself to really get motivation to know that we can set our own standards… and then follow through with the action. In time, with the work, we will be what we are aiming to be.

I loved the fact that she highlighted this point of needing to follow through with the ACTION. Setting the goals and shifting the mindset is great and a needed move, but we have to make a reasonable, reachable, plan for us to be able to grow and achieve what it is we are hoping to become.

Start today, what three positive “I am” statements can you repeat to yourself daily to help you grow this month. For example: I am consistent with showing up in my business. I am a patient mom. I am a punctual person. Take some time to see how what you tell yourself, your mindset, can help you move the bar in your life and business. Then make an actionable, reasonable plan for you to be able to become what you are aiming to be. For example, tell your audience that you will be showing up live every Wednesday at 3 PM. Take a few deep breaths before responding to your toddler that tests your patience daily. Wake up 30 minutes earlier to be able to make it to your appointment on time. Find what will be practicable for you to reach, slowly.

Until Next Time,
Amanda
